Five rides. That's what we managed in a full day at Universal Studios Singapore without the Express Pass. The park has 18 attractions. Five out of 18 is not great, and we felt it.
Here's what happened, what we'd queue for again, and the one free perk that ended up being the highlight of the whole trip.

The Express Pass is a separate purchase on top of your ticket, so on a busy day you're paying roughly twice to skip the same queues. We booked admission through Klook at the off-peak rate and skipped the pass.
The rides we'd queue for again
Puss in Boots' Giant Journey
Nobody expects this one. It's tucked in the Far Far Away kids' zone, so most adults walk straight past it. We almost did too. You ride suspended under the track and from the ground it looks gentle, but the drops and the speed are very real. This was our favourite ride of the entire day. If you only have time for one, make it this one.
Revenge of the Mummy
The queue is long. 45 minutes long. But at least I got to do a pictorial while waiting.
The ride itself is an indoor coaster in near-total darkness. You can't see the drops coming so you never brace for them, and every turn catches you off guard. If you only have time for two rides, make them this and Puss in Boots.
While you're in the Egypt zone, don't miss the woman in the very high heels. You'll know her when you see her. Get a photo.
Transformers The Ride 3D
I first rode this over 10 years ago and came back specifically for it. It's a 3D movie playing around you while you're on a moving simulator, and somehow it still works. This is the ride most first-timers come to USS for, and it earns that reputation.

Battlestar Galactica
Nope. Just nope. What if we got stuck mid-ride? My kid is still young, so that's a hard pass.
Kidding aside, this is only for the thrill-seekers. The queue is long, the ride is intense, and it will leave your head spinning. I rode it years ago when my cholesterol was still low and I didn't need to worry about what my heart could handle. Those days are behind me.
The rest (didn't ride, can't recommend)
Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure
When you reach a certain age, despite having the mental capacity to try out things, your body will say, "Nope." This was one of those rides.
We skipped this one because we were already tired. The queue was long, and we were cooked from the heat
and we just ran out of energy. It's a water ride with a big drop at the end, so on a hot day it might actually be worth it for the splash alone.
WaterWorld
I was looking forward to this spectacle, but it was closed for maintenance on our visit day. If you can catch it, it's a stunt show with pyrotechnics and water effects. Check the schedule before you go. By the way, I've been here before and the show was really good. It's a must-see if you can catch it. If you fancy a bit of action and explosions, this is the show for you.

Minion Mayhem
Remember that scene in Bean (1997) where Mr. Bean is in the cinema on a rocking chair? That's basically what this ride is, just the 2026 version and with some 3d glasses. We didn't get to try it though. It was down when we visited.
Canopy Flyer
It's a gentle overhead ride that gives you a bird's-eye view of the park. Sounds nice, right? But the queue was long and by that point our legs were filing a formal complaint. We chose to admire the view from a bench instead.
What we'd skip next time
We tried these so you don't have to:
- Sesame Street Spaghetti Space Chase. The name says "Space Chase.", but there was no "chase" when we rode it. Fine for young kids. As an adult, don't give it more than 15 minutes of queue.
- Treasure Hunters. 30-plus minutes standing in direct sun for about two minutes of slow driving. We regretted this one immediately. Skip it.
- Trolls Hug Time Jubilee. It's a kids' show. That said, it's air-conditioned, so plan it as a rest stop between rides. Check the show schedule so you don't waste time waiting.
- Lights, Camera, Action. We lined up, got moved into a holding room that was absolutely roasting, and walked out before it even started. Zero regrets.
The free birthday perk (this made our day)
We actually went on our son's birthday. Walked up to Guest Services near the entrance with his ID, and they handed us a voucher for free popcorn or ice cream, 15% off at a food outlet, and 15% off at a shop. All free. No catch.
The best part was the Meet & Greets. The mascots made a proper fuss over him, and he came away with better photos than any of the rides gave us. Didn't cost a cent.
If anyone in your group has a birthday coming up, plan your visit around it. You just need to go during their birth month.
By the way, the mascots really made a fuss over my kid, my kid was crying when he saw Shrek
But when my kid saw this pretty princess Fiona, he was way to smitten.
Would we buy the Express Pass next time?
On a busy day, yes.
We went on an off-peak weekday and still only managed five rides. The queues hit 30 to 45 minutes each, and the Singapore heat makes every one of those minutes worse. By mid-afternoon we were done.
With the Express Pass we could've probably hit more than 10 rides, which feels like the right number for a full day. S$58 for five rides felt thin. If you're going on a weekend or a holiday, pay for it. If you're travelling with kids (old enough for rides), definitely pay for it. The pass doesn't just save time, it saves everyone's mood.
The park is great. The rides that are good are properly good. It's the standing around in tropical heat that gets you, and that's exactly what the Express Pass removes.
